Letters and correspondences around 1900 (Witsen and Verwey)
The edition of Letters and Correspondents around 1900 consists of two components:
- The Letters section contains the letter networks of two key figures: the man of letters Albert Verwey (1865-1937) and the visual artist Willem Witsen (1860-1923). The 5,512 letters have been made accessible through transcriptions, digital colour images and metadata.
- The Correspondents section contains a database with biographical profiles of the 439 correspondents, with data on their professional and social activities: the domains in which they were active, the periodicals in which they published and their memberships.
