Mrinalini Luthra holds a bachelor’s in mathematics from Delhi University and a Master in Logic from the University of Amsterdam. Her research interests lie at the intersection of technology, ethics, and design.
As a Data Ethics Specialist at GLOBALISE, she is responsible for ensuring responsible and ethical data practices, promoting fairness, transparency, and accountability. This includes raising awareness of ethics within the project, identifying the various ethical issues (such as representational and algorithmic biases), defining ethical guidelines to address the same and seeing that they are integrated into GLOBALISE’s (data) practices.
Previously, she co-led the project Unsilencing Dutch Colonial Archives at the University of Amsterdam on improving accessibility to Dutch colonial archives using entity recognition.
