Biography
Marc van Zoggel studied Dutch Language and Culture (bachelor) and Literature and Literary Theory (research master) at Radboud University Nijmegen. In 2015, he defended the dissertation De ijdele façade. Over de ironische zelfvergroting van Harry Mulisch at Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB). An abridged trade edition of this thesis was published by Verloren in 2018.
Marc was one of the editors of the 24-volume Complete Works of Willem Frederik Hermans between 2008 and 2022. In 2023-2024, he contributed to the revised, bilingual online edition of Anne Frank’s Manuscripts. Since 2023, he has been a researcher within the edition project The Mondrian Papers. In addition, he is editorial secretary of Tijdschrift voor Nederlandse Taal- en Letterkunde (TNTL) and a member of the Commission for Language and Literature of the Maatschappij der Nederlandse Letterkunde. He was also a guest lecturer at Leiden University and was involved as curator/editor at Literatuurmuseum.nl (now LiteratuurLab). His current research interests include Dutch literature and national identity and the theme of sports in literature.
