Biography
Marga Beesemer studied pharmacy and physiotherapy in Utrecht. After this period, she switched to the hospitality industry and started her own restaurant in the centre of Utrecht. After 18 years as an entrepreneur, she started as office manager at the Utrecht Department of the KNMP (later Apothekersvereniging Midden-Nederland), where she worked for 20 years. This job ended due to a reorganisation, after which she joined the HuC as management assistant for the Meertens Institute and the Huygens Institute.
During her career, she has developed into an all-round support worker, system and website administrator, financial administrator and communications officer. She enjoys making sure that in the background the processes run smoothly and professionally. She is trained and experienced in crisis and information management and will use her expertise in this area as part of the HuC’s core crisis team.
In addition to her work for the HuC, Marga is an active member of the Dutch Auschwitz Committee.
